Port Hedland School of the Air delivers and reports on learning areas covering content designated in the Australian Curriculum. Those subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Health & Physical Education, Technologies and Arts.

PHSOTA reports these curriculum indicators in various ways, including attendance, assessment results, behavioural indicators, and parent/teacher feedback. Curriculum-based reporting is the system through which the school keeps parents informed about how their child is progressing toward their intended learning goals.

It serves as a platform for the students to enhance their self-confidence and identity, discover their strengths and talents, builds resilience, and cultivate positive relationships. By focusing on these aspects, the school aspires to bring about a positive change in the attitude and behaviour of the students, which will ultimately help them in their future endeavours.
